Welcome to the Privacy Policy for the MBM Placement Hub mobile application ("App", Android Package: in.ac.mbm.placementhub), operated in conjunction with the College Sathi platform ("we," "our," "us," or "Platform"), accessible via https://www.collegesathi.org.

MBM Placement Hub is a digital placement assistance ecosystem designed specifically for students and placement aspirants of MBM University. It provides access to DSA sheets, company-wise interview questions, notes, senior mock test experiences, and job placement opportunities.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, process, transfer, and delete your data in compliance with the Indian Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and Google Play Developer Program Policies.

By installing, registering, logging in, or using the MBM Placement Hub App or Platform, you consent to the collection, storage, processing, and transfer of your data as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our placement prep, notifications, and verification services, we collect several categories of information, which you provide directly or which are generated automatically during your use of the App:

A. Personal Information

During account registration and profile setup, we collect your:

Full Name
Email Address (academic/institutional domain preferred)
Mobile Phone Number
Password (securely encrypted using Firebase Authentication)

B. Academic Information

To verify eligibility criteria and match you with recruitment rules, we collect:

College / University Name (MBM University)
Department and Branch of Study
Graduation Year
CGPA or academic grades (optional, used for company eligibility filters)

C. Uploaded Documents

You may choose to upload documents to customize your profile and share preparation materials:

Profile Photo
Resume (PDF format)
User-Generated Content: Placement experiences, interview questions, study guides, notes, and reference sheets.

D. Payment Information

When subscribing to premium features (such as premium test series or DSA sheets), transaction amounts and statuses are processed exclusively through secure, RBI-regulated third-party payment gateways (Razorpay). MBM Placement Hub does not store or process card numbers, CVV codes, net banking passwords, or UPI PINs on our servers.

E. Device and Technical Information

When you use the App, we may log technical details to maintain system security and compatibility:

Internet Protocol (IP) address
Operating System (OS) details and version
Device Brand and Model
App crash logs and performance analytics.

F. Push Notification Tokens

To send you real-time alerts about upcoming company registrations, mock tests, and placement results, we collect and store your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token.

3. How We Use Information

We process your personal and academic data strictly for the following purposes:

To set up, authenticate, and manage your student account.
To match your academic profile with company eligibility rules for placements.
To store and showcase your resume to verified seniors, mentors, or potential employers.
To publish and display your uploaded placement experiences, questions, and notes to the student community.
To send you push notifications about new placement opportunities, drives, and study updates.
To process premium subscriptions safely.
To monitor system performance, fix technical bugs, and secure cloud operations.
To comply with regulatory obligations and legal directives.

4. Device Permissions

To provide core mobile app features, the MBM Placement Hub App requests the following device permissions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Push Notifications): Used to send you real-time alerts for active placement drives, DSA sheets, mock tests, and admin announcements. You can opt out of these in your device's app notification settings at any time.
Storage/Files Permission (Optional): Used to let you select and upload your resume PDF and profile picture from your device.

5. User Generated Content Policy

MBM Placement Hub enables users to upload study resources, notes, question sheets, and placement reviews.

User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for all files, text, and documents you upload. You warrant that you hold the intellectual property rights to the uploaded resources and that they do not contain confidential corporate assessment questions or copy-protected assets.
Content Review: We reserve the right to review, moderate, and permanently delete any user-generated content that violates copyright laws, contains offensive remarks, or compromises the confidentiality of third-party company hiring criteria.

6. Firebase Storage and Cloud Security

All uploaded document files, including student resumes, notes, and profile pictures, are stored securely using Firebase Storage (managed by Google Cloud). We apply strict security rules and access tokens to ensure that raw file URLs are not publicly indexed or exposed to unauthorized search engine crawlers. Only authenticated users or verified members of our student community can access these resource repositories.

7. Payment Processing Security

Premium subscriptions on MBM Placement Hub are handled via secure, integrated third-party payment gateways. These services are PCI-DSS compliant and utilize industry-grade encryption.

All financial transactions are governed by the respective gateway's terms of service and privacy policy. We strongly advise reviewing their privacy disclosures before completing any financial transactions.

8. Third-Party SDKs and Services

We coordinate with trusted cloud-infrastructure and software providers to host and run the App:

Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage, Messaging): Used for secure authentication, database storage, media hosting, and sending push notifications.
Razorpay SDK: Used for secure payment processing.
Hosting Providers: Secure cloud servers running React Native backend services and Spring Boot services.

These entities are contractually bound to process your information only as instructed by us and under strict data security protocols.

9. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with external parties except under these limited conditions:

With Your Consent: When you choose to share your resume and profile details with a senior developer, mentor, or recruiter.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, government authorities, or law enforcement agencies to investigate, prevent, or address fraudulent activities, security breaches, or legal violations.
Platform Protection: To protect the rights, property, and safety of MBM Placement Hub, our users, or the public.

10. Data Security

We implement comprehensive technical and organizational security measures:

All network communications are encrypted using secure HTTPS/TLS protocols.
Databases are firewalled, and access is restricted to essential Spring Boot backend API controllers.
Regular security reviews are conducted to prevent SQL injections, cross-site scripting (XSS), and unauthorized data leaks.

While we apply industry-standard security measures, no electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your transmission data.

11. Data Retention

We retain your personal, academic, and document files for as long as your student account remains active on MBM Placement Hub. Once your account is closed or deleted, we purge your data from our active databases and cloud storage within standard retention periods, unless retention is legally mandated.

12. User Rights

Under the Indian DPDP Act, 2023, and global standards, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You can request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You can edit and update your academic details, mobile number, name, and resume at any time via your account profile settings in the App.
Consent Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent to data processing, which may limit your access to specific verified placement features.
Account & Data Deletion Request: You have the right to request that your account and all associated personal records be permanently deleted.

🗑️ How to Delete Your Account and Data:
To comply with Google Play's Data Safety Policies, we provide direct mechanisms to delete your account and associated data:

In-App Deletion: Navigate to the Profile -> Account Settings screen within the MBM Placement Hub App and tap "Delete Account".
Email/Web Request: You can request account deletion by emailing us from your registered email address to collegesathi10@gmail.com.

Upon requesting account deletion, all personal profile records in our MySQL/Firestore database and uploaded document files (including resumes) in Firebase Storage will be permanently purged within 7 business days.

13. Children's Privacy

MBM Placement Hub is designed strictly for university students and placement aspirants. The Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will take immediate steps to purge it.

14. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect shifts in our app permissions, database structure, or legal compliance rules. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" timestamp at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we safeguard your data.
